Highlights to date

  • Making the decision to leave fulltime employment with two high salaries and a young whānau was a big decision. The confidence to take the step into this space was from the collective tautoko of our whānau, hapū, iwi and hoa. We are humbled by your ongoing support. Specifically, a mihi to Johnson Mckay from Ira Aotearoa for developing our brand and the launch campaign.

  • We conducted a detailed review of a bank’s credit policies, engaged 12 diverse staff members for insights, and provided tailored recommendations on capability, risk, engagement, and product development, which we are now helping implement to drive meaningful change.

  • For a client that works with several Māori organisations, we developed a set of nature based Māori brand personas.

  • In collaboration with a research partner, RŌA Consulting facilitated workshops on cultural safety with kaimahi Māori, Māori leadership, and organizational leaders, producing a themes document, management recommendations, and survey questions to monitor cultural safety over time.

  • At the request of an organisation’s board, RŌA Consulting reviewed and rewrote their annual report and contracted partners to collaborate, successfully delivering within a tight timeline.

  • After four board meetings as an associate director our Pou Matua Teahooterangi Pihama was appointed as an independent member of the organisations audit and risk committee of Te Mātāwai.

  • Reviewed the financials of a grant funding organisation that has contracts that can take several years to deliver and identified that the way they report their equity position and expenses could be a lot clearer for all stakeholders. After approval from their auditors, the internal finance team has started to develop a change management plan.

  • Given the economic recession, we have supported a number of SME through reviewing the skills of their staff, looking at alternative revenue streams, restructuring their workforce, reviewing their strategies and priorities with the goal of being financially sustainable long term with minimal reputational impacts.

  • Our oldest Tamaiti is 12 years old, we are teaching him how to do our bookkeeping and he is nearly autonomous. (he didn’t like the title bookkeeper so negotiated a change)
